Frequently asked questions

What is Creator Tools Guide?+

An independent review site for creator-economy tools — newsletter platforms, all-in-one creator suites, and no-code app builders. We rank tools against the criteria that actually matter for solo creators and small teams, and we tell you where each one falls short, not just where it shines.

How do you pick which tools to recommend?+

Every ranking on this site starts with the reader's intent, not the vendor's pitch. We define the criteria that matter for the use case (e.g. for newsletters: growth tools, monetization, deliverability, automations), score the leading platforms against those criteria, and publish the reasoning — including the limitations — alongside the rank. We update rankings when a platform ships a material change or a stronger alternative emerges.

Do affiliate links change your rankings?+

No. Affiliate relationships never affect where a tool sits in our rankings. If a tool is a poor fit, we say so even when we have an affiliate link for it — and we still recommend tools we don't have affiliate relationships with (Kit, Substack, Kajabi, Passion.io, Uscreen and others) where they're the honest right answer. The site carries an FTC disclosure at the top of every page.

How often do you update your reviews and rankings?+

When a platform ships a meaningful change — pricing shift, new core feature, or a notable regression — we revisit the relevant review and ranking. The sitemap's lastmod timestamps reflect those updates. Reviews without a recent update are still accurate at the time of writing, but platforms move fast, so always cross-check the vendor's own site for the latest pricing before committing.
